Hello to all!
Converting MP3 or WAV or KFN (which has a music track inside) to a MIDI or KAR file is nearly impossible (unless you pay a lot of money)!
Reason: MP3 or WAV is waveform-based music which means that the bits and bytes describe the amplitude and frequency of this wave (easily said).
MIDI or KAR is a sequencer-based music which means that the soundcard is told by software commands which note should be played with which instrument how loud. The soundcard then makes sounds out of this commands - "artificial" sounds of instruments which don't sound like the originals.
So converting MP3 (or similar) to MIDI means you would need a software wich analyses the frequency spectrum of this music track, splits up the different instruments and translates it into a sequencer form. A thing which can be done - but you would need very, very expensive software or studio equipment! And often the result is not very good!
Hope my answer helps you.
