how to have lyrics and chord symbols

Postby Wyndham » Mon Nov 30, 2009 3:12 pm

I have just started using the editor and have learned much. It looks that this will be a good and useful program but i could not find a way to have a chord symbol above the text where I need it to be. This would be a nice visual clue to show chord changes in the song.
Hope there's a way, thanks for any help Wyndham

Hello!

I don't know if you have the "Studio" version of the editor but you can add a second track for text (classic karaoke text), position it above the lyrics track on the screen, type in the chords you want to have and synchronize this second track.

In the studion version there you can add unlimited number of text tracks (for duets, canons, effects, etc.); the free version hasn't got this option.

Hope my answer will help you.

Stefans,

I have the studio version. Could you give me a step-by-step on how to add a second set of text please (for guitar chords)

Thanks :)

I think it would be hard to get it all to line up with 2 tracks,
try: I'm goin' to [F] Jackson, I'm gonna mess a-[C] round
Yea! I'm goin' to [F] Jackson, [G7] look out Jackson [F] town.

Hello sgiantthebard,

Sorry for the late reply and sorry for not quite giving you the answers you need.
I didn't have the time to make screenshots yet but I will try to do the next time.

Meanwhile take a look at the example of KaraFun: http://www.karafun.com/down/karafun_studio_trailer.kfn

You can download this KFN; it's not locked so you can open it with the editor and play with the different settings. When I started working with the editor I learned much from this KFN - the events, the different kind of tracks, the transitions, the effects, etc.

If you have any questions ask this forum - my other colleagues will help you out!

what you can do....

Copy chords or download it like this:

Color in this picture 1 tab you need (program paint, irfanview or another picture program).
Save it as f.i. C.jpg
Color from the original picture another tab.
Save it as f.i. G.jpg
In the editor you can replace every background.
So where your song needs a "C" you change the background to C.jpg
Where you need a "G" you change the background to G.jpg
Now you can use the chords and singin with the lyrics
