I saw the other post requesting crossfading and that would be a great idea.
Also, how about a default setting that would allow a playlist to automatically crossfade. The degree of crossfade should be assignable, since crossfade tastes vary between users.
This feature would be particularly useful for musicians, especially late in an evening when you really don't want an gaps between songs. That is, the crowd is into continuous dance mode.
It would be even better if there were a keyboard shortcut to turn it on or off (or at least make it possible to assign a shortcut to it). This would be helpful, again for musicians, for alternating between playing live music and going into the karaoke portion of the show.
In lieu of, or in addtion to, a keyboard shortcut, an icon somewhere on the UI that could be clicked to initiate and/or turn off the auto-crossfade function.
One of the plugins for WinAmp provides this feature, but as I've said before WinAmp sucks! (Actually, it's okay for just playing regular songs, but it's much too limited for serious Karaoke work - plus it crashes or otherwise fails in the middle of shows - the recent buffer overrun fix did not correct any of these problems.) Anyway...
Love Karafuna and hope that you're able to include some of the more important feature request I've seen. BTW, there are some great ideas being posted.
Thanks and kudos to other posters! Hal.
