The file formats accessed by the Karafun Player are restrictive - so much sio that it is of no use for Karaoke Jocks. Obviously the file format restriction is purposeful on the part of Karafun to apply Proprietary restriction over their porducts. This is short sited and restrictive to Karafun. The market needs a good player/hoster software product that can use all file formats: .mp3, .wave,.CD+G,.mp3+G etc etc. Power Karaoke and Karaoke Builder products need competition and Karafun is just the roduct to give it. Karafun . . . . get rid of your propriatery mentality and take the whole world on !!

At the end of the day it's a business and how else would they be able to pay the artistes who work hard on the music and the singing etc. They don't cost a fortune and although I myself would like to change one or two songs etc I know I have the option to download the mp3 itself and create the tracks to how I like.

But maybe there is a way to compromise, basically if Karafun changed the studio package so it would allow you to change the locked files (even for those who just use them to learn how to create their own) and then once you have finished editing or creating it locks down the file again which may help prevent loss of profits for karafun. Also lets be fair to the artistes and creators if I downloaded a kfn and then changed it to look as if I created it and then tried to sell it on for one that wouldn't be fair and two it wouldn't be legal either so I am sure that karafun realised this a long time ago. I wouldn't mind being able to change the kfn's I'd bought slightly and then at the end or even the begining have karafun displaying it's logo in the corner.

but hey we are all entitled to opinions hence the purpose of a forum, so this would be an interesting discussion to have, what do others think.
